Paul
Easter

This stallion
wasn't tall and elegant. He was rather short and of the "bulldog" body
type. He was, however, one of the first AQHA champions registered in the
Pacific Northwest and his foals have been top show and pleasure horses on
the West Coast and throughout the nation. He was the sire of over 300
offspring during his career. It wasn't his show accomplishments that
made this stallion a legend in his own time, it was his big heart. School children came from all around on field trips to visit Paul. He
would gently lean over his stall and nuzzle a small child in their fuzzy
winter coats. Kids were so taken by this loving stallion that they
would send him their old coats to play with.

Not many horses are fortunate
enough to have a funeral service. Over 100 people came to the services
on his final day to pay their respects to this great Champion and friend. Even though a
“living legend” has died, his name will be remembered whenever his dun
horses are raised and shown, for his get and grand-get are continuing
to impart the fantastic traits this wonderful “old man” passed with his
bloodlines. We started
loving these horses 17 years ago when we purchased A 19 year old dun
daughter of Paul Easter, A Paul La Button. "Paula" was wonderful. She
was the best babysitter for children and always knew when it was "too much"
for them. She could also 'turn it on' if she were carrying a more
capable rider. Paula lived to be 34 years old. She was a great
mare and fantastic friend until the end. |

About this same time, I discovered a son of Paul Easter...
Tiger
Taylor.
I was speechless the first time I laid eyes on him.
This stallion is truly beautiful. He was bred by and has lived his
life with Ginnie Blain of
Springhill Farm in
Arlington Washington. He has, over the years, followed in his sires
footsteps, siring foals with his fabulous athleticism, longevity, quiet
disposition and gorgeous color. Tiger Taylor or "Rowdy" is he is
affectionately known is pictured below at 25 years old.
